Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519) was an Italian Renaissance polymath (painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer) from the early 1500's.

In the episode, Da Vinci likes art, but instead of painting in Italian Renaissance style, he is a beatnik who enjoys splashing paint onto a canvas, playing bongos, doing interpretive dance, reciting poetry, and drinking coffee. Otto tries to inspire Da Vinci to paint and invent the way he is supposed to by showing him the human body, the architecture in the Duomo of Florence, and Larry's gears, but Da Vinci keeps expressing his interest with interpretive dance and poetry.
When Da Vinci gets tired of Otto's perspective of art, he goes to a coffee shop for some coffee. Otto calls for his attention there, and Da Vinci is inspired to paint the waitress, Mona Lisa.

Da Vinci is a skinny man dressed in typical beatnik clothing, including a blue turtleneck, gray slacks, and black shoes. He wears a blue beret over a bald spot on his head, and his hair and beard are white. Da Vinci has a large, round nose.
Personality[]
Da Vinci is a typical beatnik, as he seems to lead a more spontaneous lifestyle. His painting style was described by Otto as being abstract like "post-war expressive." He enjoys snapping his fingers, playing his bongos and saying things like "Crazy," or "riding the vibe." He also seems to like rhyming, shown when he greeted Time Squad. When describing more traditional forms of art, Da Vinci was bored and used the word "square" several times. When Da Vinci saw Mona Lisa, he was inspired to paint a realistic painting of her, starting his course for becoming a famous artist.
In History[]
Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath during the Renaissance. Some of his studies include invention, sculpting, painting, science, anatomy, and history. His most famous painting is without any doubt the Mona Lisa, but he also was famous for his inventions of the parachute, helicopter and tank, and his anatomical sketches about human body. Many historians and scholars regard Leonardo as an example of the "Universal Genius".
