Plot[]
The Time Squad goes back to the era of Lewis & Clark, where the exploring duo has broken up. While Larry is left to comfort Lewis, Tuddrussel and Otto find Clark and become his exploring partners.
Synopsis[]
On the satellite, the alarm is going off. The team finds out that the mission is Lewis and Clark, and heads out. Upon arriving, the team hears people arguing and finds Lewis talking to an inattentive Clark about teamwork. Clark is annoyed, and in a fashion similar to a dating couple, he breaks up his partnership with Lewis and leaves. Lewis is heartbroken and is comforted by Larry while Otto and Tuddrussel decide to follow Clark and convince him to return to Lewis. Lewis then invites an annoyed Larry to explore with him.
After an entire day of searching for Clark, Otto and Tuddrussel suddenly find a trail of litter that leads to his campsite. Clark is living a lazy life, and invites Otto and Tuddrussel to explore with him. Otto is concerned because Clark doesn't know how to read a map and asks him to seek Lewis' help. An obstinate Clark refuses, declaring everything will be fine.
While both teams explore, Larry is actually enjoying his exploration with Lewis, as they explore the unknown American frontier. Meanwhile, Otto and Tuddrussel are miserable with Clark, who has no idea where he is going or how to survive in the wild. Lewis has brought plenty of provisions for his team and makes friends with animals, while Clark’s team has no food or shelter and angers a bear.
Eventually, Clark’s team is hungry and exhausted. Otto and Tuddrussel frustrate Clark, and his exclamation is heard by the nearby Lewis. Though briefly concerned, Lewis coldly asks how Clark has been. Clark initially lies, claiming he's doing fine, but soon faces an angry Otto and Tuddrussel. Left with no other option, Clark is forced to admit that he needs Lewis, as he's incapable of being an explorer without him. An overjoyed Lewis forgives Clark, until suddenly Larry appears, wanting to show a new flower to him. After Lewis explains he and Larry had been exploring together, a jealous Clark punches Larry out cold, taking a giggling Lewis away by the hand. Otto and Tuddrussel praise Larry, thinking he had planned the entire ordeal, leaving him deeply confused and annoyed as he zaps the team home.
Trivia[]
- When Otto announces the mission, Tuddrussel mistakenly assumes the team is going to meet DC comics' Superman, having mishead Otto as "Lois and Clark", the name of Superman's love interest and his secret identity. Upon being corrected, Tuddrussel asks "Who's going to stop Lex Luthor?", Superman's arch nemesis.
- In the episode, the way Lewis and Clark acted resembled that of a couple breaking up and getting back together.

- Larry and Lewis claim to have discovered the Rocky Mountains, the Columbia River, Great Falls, the Yellowstone River, and Saint Louis, but this would mean they traveled for months.
